Raising Adults, Inc.

Est. 2014

"We're not raising children, we're raising adults."

Parent coaching consultations are over the phone, and can also be in person in the Kansas City area. They are 2-4 hours long depending on your child's age,  and $100 per hour.    Here are some common things I solve:

The "Terrible Twos"

Sleep issues of all kinds

Outbursts, anger, biting or hitting

Issues at mealtimes, picky eaters

Having to repeat yourself, a lack of listening

Battles of will, control issues

Arguing, defiance, lack of cooperation

Whining, meltdowns

Short fuse, overreacting

Potty training

Transitioning from crib to bed

Issues with coparents, nannies, or grandparents

Life changes such as a new baby, death in the family, or a very stressed or ill parent

I empower parents, there is never any judgment, and I share everything you need to know in the first consultation so you do not need me on a regular basis. My guidance is psychology based, logical, simple to implement, and indescribably beneficial for your child. I will formulate the perfect plan of action for your family, whatever your goals are. All guidance is personalized just for you.

I will help you to change the way you view your child and your role as a parent. You will feel clear-headed, in control, confident, and will enjoy parenting. Your child will feel calm, understood, respected, valued, and in control of their decisions. Parents are always surprised at how simple this is, how logical it is, how quickly it works, and how beneficial it is for their relationships with their partners and children.

I help partners get on the same page, regardless of their strengths and weaknesses as a parent, the status of their current relationship, or their level of disagreement.

Parents of all backgrounds are welcome.

How it works:

1  Assess

We will begin your consultation with you sharing anything you'd like about your parenting struggles and goals, and I will ask questions to gather input.

2  Coach

The rest of the consultation will be my personalized guidance, you can ask questions at any time, and you will be all set by the end of our call.

3  Follow up

I will check on you and be available for follow up questions for the following week, to make sure you reach your goals.

Scheduling

To schedule a consultation, email me at AmandaParentCoach@gmail.com with the age of your child and a brief description of the problem. I will give you an estimate of how long your consultation will be, and my availability to choose from. Once you are scheduled, I will walk you through the next steps to finalize your booking and make sure you feel prepared for the call.

Do not let your children know about the consultation or that you are seeking parenting help.

I so look forward to getting to know you, hearing all about your children, and making things easier right away! It is a sincere pleasure to help you, and I promise I will help you more than you can imagine. This is a gift for your children, and these are tools for a lifetime.

“I found Amanda and didn’t call or email. I sat on her number for months. I wished I had called her sooner. From our very first phone call she made me feel like I had known her, she made it so comfortable to talk about my 10 year old son. She told me she could help us. I was skeptical, but she seemed to feel what I was going through, genuinely wanting nothing but to be there for me and most importantly my son. This beautiful person gave me hope. I thought there was nothing I could do. She made me see things about myself that I needed to change to help my son. I can’t thank you enough Amanda. The help, the advice, the referrals to continue the healing process… You are definitely a person God sent our way. I’ll recommend Amanda to any family I know. ‘Thank you’ is not enough. I wish I could do more to repay you for your time and all your help. The time and work you give to help families like ours – I cannot express enough what a great help it was, for someone to be so straightforward and honest while helping us. Amanda, you are amazing. Thank you and God bless.”

"Amanda lovingly helped coach our family on various parenting issues such as sleep training, behavioral challenges, and communication development. I believe that you will be hard-pressed to find someone who knows her profession as well as she does. Amanda loves what she does and it shows. I’m on a large mom’s Facebook group in Houston where she is known as the go-to parenting expert. She conducts herself professionally and has the capacity to connect with children of all ages.”

“Amanda came to our home to help us with our three-year-old twin boys, who were giving us trouble randomly throughout the day, but especially at bedtime. I was desperate and felt like I’d tried everything. Amanda gave us a whole new approach to interacting with them that is all encompassing for any issue or stage. Call her, you will not regret it, it is worth every penny. She will give you all the tools you need.”

“I had seen Amanda’s name pop up a million times on this Facebook kid-information page. People would always pipe in with her information and a testimonial when moms would post questions about what to do about an issue with their children, whether it was a behavior or sleeping problem or whatever. So I took down Amanda’s number ‘for the future’. Fast forward a few months, I was increasingly frustrated by little things my 18 month old son was doing. He was throwing food, starting to hit us and the baby when frustrated, and doing things just to get a rise out of us. He knew exactly how to get us riled up. We tried anything and everything (and therefore nothing was working), and we just felt out of control. I knew his behavior was ‘normal’, but I didn’t know what to do. I actually didn’t even know if there was anything TO do about it. So I called Amanda and asked this very question. She immediately said she could help, and honestly, I could not be happier that we called. My son is happier, more calm, more in control…and so are we. We know exactly what to do with any behavior that is not acceptable. The best part about Amanda was that she gave us the tools for a lifetime…honestly. She didn’t make me feel like we ‘needed her’ after our session (though I did have follow up questions and she was super speedy to respond.) But it was 3 hours together, and that was it… we are now empowered as parents to handle whatever he throws at us next. It’s so nice not having to walk on eggshells wondering how he will act…and worrying about how to react. The absolute best part is that while I initially did it for me and my husband, I know it was the greatest gift for our children.”

“We are so grateful for Amanda! Our challenging toddler (with a sibling not far behind in age) sent us searching for someone that could help us with parenting strategies. The approach that we learned from Amanda is still in practice to this day, almost a year later. We can honestly say that we have a much calmer and happier household with far fewer tantrums. It was an excellent investment into our family life and I would recommend Amanda to anyone looking for someone to help them navigate the parenting waters. We loved that we could talk about specific examples with our own children and get practical advice that we could literally implement that day. Amanda is amazingly kind and patient, and truly gave us not only the tools we needed to be better parents, but also the encouragement and confidence. Thank you!”

“I highly recommend Amanda for any situation you have regarding your baby or toddler. My 20 month old was biting at daycare. He didn’t do it at home so we were having a really hard time figuring out how to get him to stop. Daycare didn’t give us many suggestions and they were threatening to kick him out. I felt completely helpless in the situation. I reached out to Amanda to see if she could help. And she did. We learned so much in the few hours she spent talking to us. She was completely open, honest, compassionate, and never judgmental. I have a very happy toddler who no longer bites and was able to stay in the daycare that he loves. Thank you Amanda! Our family is forever grateful.”

“Amanda was amazing at helping my husband and I with our 21 month old twins. My little girl was going through a clingy stage and was refusing to go to sleep on her own. Amanda parent-coached us for just 3 hours. Her philosophy is so practical. We applied the principles we discussed with our twins, and magic happened! They were finally listening to us and much more pleasurable all around. Also, with Amanda’s techniques we were able to get my daughter back to her normal sleeping habits within 3 days! I have to say this was the best conversation we ever had about parenting. These techniques will guide us as we go through all different kinds of stages with the twins and our new baby on the way. It was money extremely well spent. Thank you so much Amanda.”

“I want to give a strong recommendation for Amanda Lowe, or as she’s known in our house, ‘The Houston Supernanny.’ I have a precocious 7 yr old son, and have tried to find the right therapists, psychologists, and behaviorists for him, and even a therapist for my weary husband and me. I believe we’ve come to the end of that road, thanks to Amanda. A week after visiting us, and after putting all her strategies in place, we had our first SOLID great day with our son– morning through bedtime. We didn’t have a single argument or blow-up, and he got a smiley face for behavior at school. This is STELLAR. …I was skeptical, I won’t lie. I’m telling you this so you won’t think I’m just writing some rave-review to be nice. Amanda doesn’t have children herself, so how could she POSSIBLY understand what my husband and I deal with on a regular basis, much more so with our precocious kid?! Well, she has more experience than I do– she’s worked with over a thousand families over the last 20 years. She’s seen it all. Amanda told me when I explained to her how nervous I was before our meeting, “I’ve got this.” And she totally did. It really helped to get a non-parent’s advice on this– there was no bias or judgment about how we do things, just simple, straight-forward advice on how to do things going forward. And it totally worked.”

“Amanda is your gal! I have used her for issues with both my girls for the past 2 years. She gives you the plan, confidence, and support you need to overcome the hardest parts of parenting. Sleep, eating, behavior – she has you covered. Besides that, I just love her and she is an awesome person in general. But wow, I have seen her knowledge work first hand, and sooner than you can believe, you feel empowered and confident as a parent again! “

~ Ali M.

“I want to give huge kudos to Amanda, she has been an amazing help with our family. We used her as a Parent Coach and have had unbelievable results. Every single one of us is happier now that she has given us the tools to handle even the roughest situations. But it’s the every day situations she helped with that have made the most difference.”

~ Becky N.

“Amanda helped us on many levels - from feeding, to sleep, to scheduling and transitions. But most of all, she’s helped us trust our instincts as parents which was priceless. Her presence is calming and warm and she imparts her knowledge without judgment. We highly recommend her to any parents who need guidance on various child-rearing matters.”
